West Plains Swim Team

Schedule:

June 6th~at Mtn. View &= nbsp; June 20th~at Houston

June 13th~at = Willow Springs June 27th~at Avq*

= July 11th~at West Plains~*Districts*

~All meets start at 9:00 a.m.~warm-ups at 8:30a.m.~please be there by 8:20a.m.

*The Ava meet starts at 6:00p.m.~warm-ups at 5:30p.m. and Districts start at 8:30a.m. with warm-ups at 8:0= 0a.m.

~Only swimmers will be allowed in the team area -unless you are asked to help, there will be limited space at each pool. There will be a designated parent area and you are asked to use this area for watching races, pictures, etc.

Swimmers are allowed to sit or visit with parents, but are responsible for getting to their race on time and not missing their event!

~Districts are July 11^th and we as a swim team will be hosting them at our city pool with a rain date of July 12^th at 1:00 p.m. There will be a sign up for helping with this meet, and the rewards will be great! There will be prize drawings for those who sign up to help! WE NEED YOU! First come first serve on the best jobs!

~Sportsmanship is a must and rude behavior will not be accepted!

~Practice will be on Fridays 11-12 at the City Pool in June. Practice will resume at the July 2^nd,  Tuesdays & Thursdays 7-8p.m. (unless otherwise notified)

~Swimmer of the Year will be voted on by the swimmers and coaches and will receive a trophy at the swimming banquet.

~High Point Swimmers in each boy & girl age division will also receive a trophy and be determined by points that they earn thru the summer swimming season. Points are awarded as follows: 1^st-6 points, 2^nd-5 points, 3^rd-4 points. This is the same procedure that is used to determine who will swim at Districts. Each swimmer must qualify for districts by placing 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd in each individual event that they want to swim in at Districts. Relay spots will be determined by fastest times. *Only 1 relay will be taken to Districts in each boy & girl age division!

~Discount cards used for our fundraising will be available to sell to friends, family, etc. and for selling 5 cards you will receive your swim team finals suit free! For families with 2 children, you need to sell 8 cards. Girls suits are $31, boys are $26. Please pay when you order, your check will be held until the cards are returned or the money recevied, and then your check will be returned! The extra funds will be used for meets, equipment, pool practice rental, etc.

~We are working on a fall swimming season and possibly having meets with Seymour at their indoor pool and here. We will start practice September 8^th. Practice will be Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Civic Center from 7-8. More information to come! * In the future the summer season will also start earlier since we are allowed to use the Civic Center pool, more information to come!
